Soul’s Pool Heartache Parade

I got paid, but it only pays half my rent
“It's just money honey,” you tell me when
I get bent out of shape and broken down
Those dollar bills boys don't fool around

I got paid, but it only pays half my bills
Sister is crying been takin' those pills
That are hard to swallow and keep them down
Life is short you don't stick around

I know a little something you won't ever know
I sure wish you well
How you feel when it rains, rains down upon
Your soul’s poor heartache parade

I got paid, but it only pays half my rent
Brother is selling things he'll regret
When you need it again, it will fall down
Just one more week and I’ll turn it around

I know a little something you won't ever know
I sure wish you well
How you feel when it rains, rains down upon
Your soul’s poor heartache parade

The soggy streets and those sidewalk sweeps
I can't take them no more
Those marching feet, with the floats that weep for
Your soul’s poor heartache parade

I got paid, but it only pays half my life
The other half I found caught in a fight
With the other half it was feeling down
A push, then, a shove, bring yourself around

I know a little something you won't ever know
I sure wish you well
How you feel when it rains, rains down upon
Your soul’s poor heartache parade

I See the Sun

I saw the sun shining down
Then dark clouds were all around
Like a wheel turning round
  Hope it's just a feeling
  Justified, believing, to be free

I saw the rain pouring down
Soaked my soul through to the ground
Seeds like flowers to be found
  Surrender to the feeling
Justify the reason! To be free

I saw moonrise over the hill
Felt like time was standing still
Bones to feathers all fly until
  Life is just a reason
  Life is just a reason
  Life is just a reason

Lost Without You

Rise up high let us shine altogether, hold each other's hearts
In the hands that our mothers gave, father prayed
That we all (that we all) live as one
That we all (that we all) see the other side
That we all (that we all) stand when we fall

Hold my hand as we stride alongside the quiet still of night
When the snow drapes over the land and breezes whisper
Here we are (here we are) don't compromise
Here we are (here we are) look in our eyes
Here we are (here we are) stars still shine down

Love, love through and through
Love, love through and through
Love love - lost without you, without you

Howling wind, paint the color of my night, gasping for air, if you're held down
Shine a light and hold on your faith, let's turn the page
Be the change (be the change) you hold out for
Be the change (be the change) that you pray for
Be the change (be the change) let's turn the page

Love, love through and through
Love, love through and through
Love love - lost without you, without you

When the wind (wind will blow) there is only wind
When it rains (rain will fall) there is only rain
When the clouds (pass us by) sun will shine down

Change in the Wind

If I call you in the morning, say you'll surely be free
Passing lonely hours in the sun’s good company
Briar held the rose we caught staring at the light
What if my eyes can't peel from the sight?

If 100 freight cars rolled past our silhouette at night
Counting them, with, you would surely be my heart delight
Thunder played it’s song as the engine rolled along
Listen to that double E till it's gone

Lay down and wait with me
Heavy-hearted eyes to see
Lay down and wait with me
I won't mind a change in the wind

A short breeze in the night, why its set myself free
Light clouds overhead just won't let them be
‘Cause they’re harboring a moon in a jail also to see
A bright face all hope is misery

Lay down and wait with me
Heavy-hearted eyes to see
Lay down and wait with me
I won't mind a change in the wind

To Do Something Wrong

Rain, it's falling down, dog lyin’ on the ground
It can't be something new, just something we're not used to
Hold the line once more, they're coming on strong
It will be the last time we’ll be forced to do something wrong

To do something wrong
To do something wrong
To do something wrong

Struggle for a nickel, working hard for a dime
I'll sue my employer, you'll accuse me of a crime
Part-time weekend shift, been trying to forget about it
Full-time regret, be forced to do something wrong

To do something wrong
To do something wrong
To do something wrong

Dark clouds are at my door, what do we even need them for?
From the mountains to the shores, trouble it's been here before
Let it rain (let it rain), it's coming on strong
Let them say (let them say), you were born to do something wrong

To do something wrong
To do something wrong
To do something wrong
